Arcade Fire Add US Dates

After releasing The Surburbs/Month Of May single and teasing anxious listeners about their new album, Arcade Fire have begun announcing dates in North America throughout August around their show at Lollapalooza. Spoon will be opening on select dates.

Spoon and Deerhunter form North American double bill

It promises to be one of the best indie rock shows of the year. Spoon, set to release seventh LP Transference on Merge next week, are headlining a series of concerts across the US and Canada, with support from Bradford Cox and his troupe of indomitable indie shoegazers, Deerhunter. The tour kicks off with a special gig on March 17 in Spoon’s home town, Austin, which will function as a showcase for the renowned South By Southwest Festival.

British weird-pop girl Micachu, and fellow Texans The Strange Boys, are also playing on a number of the dates listed below.

“Written in Reverse” the first single from Spoon’s upcoming seventh studio album Transference is available to stream now below (via NPR’s All Songs Considered). The song will be available to purchase through iTunes from tomorrow (December 1st) and available physically on 7 inch vinyl on the 5th of January with the b-side “Mean Red Spider.”
