Apparently, world-famous/notorious comedian Sacha Baron Cohen–er, I mean, Borat–has exquisite taste in collaborators. He sought out Daniel Dumile, a.k.a. DOOM, who is perhaps most well known as being half of Madvillain (Dumile’s collaboration with the legendary Madlib). A masked villain and a mustachioed man from Kazakhstan? How could it possibly get any better than that? In iTunes, the EP is appropriately titled, The Mask and the Mustache.
As the headline suggests, the EP is free, so download it for zero dollars right here. You’re getting some seriously quality beats and rhymes for free, so do yourself a favor and cop this right now.

It’s no secret that most of the band members in Radiohead are vocal fans of hip-hop. Check the “Office Chart” playlists that they occasionally post on Dead Air Space, and it’s easy to see their affinity for the genre. Likewise, respectable members of the hip-hop community reciprocate the love. We can’t say that without mentioning the Thom Yorke remix of the song “Gazzillion Ear” from the masked emcee’s most recent LP, Born Like This.
Oh, but Yorke is not stopping with DOOM. Yorke recently co-hosted Gilles Peterson’s BBC radio show and dropped hints that he’s been in talks to collaborate with influential hip-hop producer and Stones Throw Records resident Madlib. Details on the project were fuzzy, with Yorke citing time and schedule constraints as reasons why the project has not come together sooner. Reportedly, he already has some Madlib beats, and he told the radio host that a Madvillain remix can be expected soon (Madvillain is the collaboration between DOOM and Madlib).
This is exciting news for both hip-hop heads and Radiohead heads.

Download: DOOM – MF Doomed (Mixed by Pipomixes)
From Pipomixes:
A few months back I went through Doom’s entire catalog of material while flying across the country. After listening to Doom 24/7 for a good two weeks, I could just hear this mix coming together without ever laying hands on a turntable. This is what I ended-up mixing once I returned home and got back on my tables. Thank you to those of you who hooked me up with a couple of instrumentals that were essential to the making of this mix. Like all of my mixes, a lot of time, thought, and energy went into crafting this effort. I hope you all enjoy the mix as much as I enjoyed making it.
It’s no secret that Mos Def is a bit of a DOOM fan. Today another video of Mos Def reciting Madvillain lyrics appeared on the Stones Throw homepage.

Doom’s DJ Dr Who Dat let us in on a secret while waiting for him to take the stage on Saturday. He said the he, Doom and Dave Sitek from TV on the Radio would be releasing an album together. I don’t know if this will be his next release or where it’ll fall in his list of allegedly upcoming releases, but it’s great news anyhow.
Take this with a grain of salt. DOOM has had countless projects that have yet to see the light of day. I’m still praying for his Swift & Changeable collaboration with Ghostface Killah. It appears that the Madvillain (DOOM + Madlib) sequel is underway though, let’s just hope that this Sitek collaboration doesn’t prolong its release.
In related news, DOOM will release a new compilation, entitled Unexpected Guests The album will be composed of DOOM rarities and collaborations and is due out sometime in October via Gold Dust.
