Singer-songwriter Alejandro Escovedo is set to release his tenth solo record on June 29, through Fantasy Records/Concord Music Group. The album will be entitled Street Songs of Love and features guest appearances from Bruce Springsteen and former Mott the Hoople frontman Ian Hunter. According to press release “Bruce Springsteen and Alejandro trade lines around a nasty guitar riff on “Faith,” a tightly woven rocker that bores in and never lets go” while Ian Hunter appears on “Down in the Bowery” which is described as “[...]perhaps the album’s beating heart on which Ian Hunter contributes full-throated vocals”
The album will be produced by Tony Visconti (David Bowie, T. Rex, Thin Lizzy), who produced Escovedo’s 2008 album Real Animal, and several of the songs are co-written with Chuck Prophet, who co-wrote the entire Real Animal album with Escovedo. The album is also supposed to be more of “a band record”, featuring Escovedo’s backing band ‘The Sensitive Boys’ (David Pulkingham, Bobby Daniel and Hector Munoz).

As we reported earlier Bruce Springsteen’s new album will be out in January. This has now been confirmed on Springsteen’s official website. It will be called Working on a Dream and will be released on the 27th of January by Columbia Records. The album is Springsteen’s second album in a row with The E Street Band and it will be the follow up to 2007′s Magic. Working on a Dream is produced and mixed by Magic-producer Brendan O’Brien, who also produced 2002′s The Rising and 2005′s Devils & Dust.
The album will contain twelve tracks, including the title track “Working on a Dream” which was premiered at an Obama rally during the presidential campaign. The album will also include two bonus tracks, one of them is “A Night with the Jersey Devil”, which Springsteen gave away as a Halloween gift earlier (and now has been taken down). Working on a Dream was recorded during the breaks from Springsteen’s world tour last year and Springsteen hopes that “Working on a Dream has caught the energy of the band fresh off the road from some of the most exciting shows we’ve ever done” and describes the recording like this: “All the songs were written quickly, we usually used one of our first few takes, and we all had a blast making this one from beginning to end.”
Tracklist:
1. Outlaw Pete
2. My Lucky Day
3. Working on a Dream
4. Queen of the Supermarket
5. What Love Can Do
6. This Life
7. Good Eye
8. Tomorrow Never Knows
9. Life Itself
10. Kingdom of Days
11. Surprise, Surprise
12. The Last Carnival
Bonus tracks:
The Wrestler
A Night with the Jersey Devil

Bruce Springsteen is set to release his next album, the follow-up to 2007′s Magic, in January 2009 according to well-known Springsteen fan-site Backstreets.com. There has been no word on the title of the album or of which songs will be included but Brendan O’Brien, the producer of Magic, said after the recording of that album that Springsteen already had enough songs for his next albums but he mentioned no titles. One possible inclusion on the new album is the song “Workin’ On A Dream” which was premiered at an Obama rally in Cleveland on November 2 and has been recorded for the album according to Backstreets.
Springsteen recently released a free Halloween song and ended his year-long world tour in support of Magic on the 30th of August and has since been actively supporting Obama’s presidential campaign and appearing at several of his rallies.

Bruce Springsteen has decided to give away a new song called “A Night With The Jersey Devil” as a Halloween gift from his official website with an accompanying video and sends the following message:
“Dear Friends and Fans,
If you grew up in central or south Jersey, you grew up with the “Jersey Devil.” Here’s a little musical Halloween treat. Have fun!”
The song isn’t exactly typical Springsteen but it’s definitely entertaining and you don’t have to sign up for anything, unless you want to, so check it out!

In January, I watched the Super Bowl, not only because my team was in it, but because I was curious to see if Tom Petty could continue the trend of great Super Bowl halftime shows that the NFL had going. Let’s not mention the result of the game, but Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers brought quite the show.
After Petty, some of my friends questioned “Who could top that and continue the streak?” I replied, “Springsteen”. The NFL must’ve read minds, because yesterday, they announced that Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will be playing the halftime show of Super Bowl XLIII at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay. This should render all rumors that Springsteen was retiring useless, as some were previously guessing. Even though ending your career in front of an estimated near 150 million people would be great, this is the Boss we’re talking about.
My predictions for the setlist:
-Radio Nowhere
-Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out
-Dancing in the Dark
-Glory Days
-Born to Run (It wouldn’t be a E Street show without it, would it?)
He’ll play those in between the Broncos and Cowboys tearing each other apart.
