Department of Eagles, side-project of Grizzly Bear’s Daniel Rossen, have a new album/compilation coming out in July. The album is called Archive 2003-2006 and features outtakes and b-sides from the duo. We don’t really know what to expect from it, but this track “Brightest Minds” might give us an idea.

Brightest Minds by Bella Union

Archive 2003-3006 is coming out on July 20th through American Dust, and the day before via Bella Union in the UK/Europe.

After his melt down at Primavera Sound in 2009 exactly a year ago Nathan Williams has been keeping pretty quiet. Today is the first news we’ve heard from him in a while and it’s a big announcement; a new album from his band Wavves.

The Californian fuzz pop trio will release their third album King Of The Beach this summer; August 2nd via Bella Union for Europe and August 3rd via Fat Possum for North America.

The record was recorded in Mississippi with production from Dennis Herring, who has previously worked with bands like Modest Mouse and The Hives. Williams has been quoted as saying he wanted to make something different to his previous two records so let’s see what this album brings.
