One Thirty BPM Records is a modern music label that rejects the concept of music piracy and the antiquated notion that every “illegal” download is a lost sale. One Thirty BPM Records is not an online community, but an exclusive label that treats its artists with the same devotion and attention as any traditional label. Instead of making CDs, One Thirty BPM Records offers all the music for free download online, and makes money from ad revenue, merchandise (shirts, vinyl, etc.) and bands’ tours.

Some Infrequently Asked Questions:
How do you make any money if you give away all your music for free?
We make money through creative merchandising, live shows, and pertinent advertising on the release pages. One Thirty BPM Records believes that the concept of “music piracy” is a falsehood perpetuated by the old guard of the music business. We encourage our customers to support our sponsors by visiting their links, and allowing us to make our releases completely free.
So, when are you going to release a CD of this “free” material?
Never. Although we’re happy to burn free CD-Rs with our releases on them, we believe CDs are on their way out as a valid format for album release. All of our downloads are at the max bit rate that space will allow on our server.
I’m good, and this all sounds great. How can I put my music on your site?
Although onethirtybpm Records appreciates the many free online music collectives on the web, One Thirty BPM Records is not a music collective, but an exclusive label. If your band is interested in representation, email records@onethirtybpm.com for information on how to send us your material. Please do not send unsolicited promos.
