The first taste of Atlas Sound’s third album proper, Parallax, was the lovely, sprawling acoustic number “Terra Incognita.” On or second glimpse of the album we’ve been given “Te Amo,” which is much more electronic and quite similar to the sounds we were hearing on Logos. It certainly leaves us thinking that Parallax, which is due out through 4AD on November 8th, could go in several different direction. We’ll have to wait until then to find out.

Plugging away since 1999, The National finally hit mainstream success with the release of their 2010 album High Violet. Of course, this entailed their first world tour, but in the new documentary Mistaken For Strangers, it’s only the backdrop for the relationship between lead singer Matt Berninger and his younger brother Tom, who had no idea that these short videos he was shooting would turn into a public document of their troubled, if still loving brotherhood.
