77 Boa Drum Will Get DVD Release

The insanely ambitious, and now annualized, 77 Boa Drums concert will be getting a proper DVD release this fall. Out September 7th on Thrill Jockey Records, the documentary will feature various Youtube videos along with the professional footage of Jun Kawaguchi and his crew.

Unfamiliar with the now three year old concert? Well 77 Boa Drum was a concert held in the Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park in Brooklyn, featuring 77 drummers all collaborating at the same time. The group included drummers for such bands as The Boredoms (whom the project was created by), Gang Gang Dance, Pixeltan, and Holy Fuck. You can check out the whole list over at the concert’s Wikipedia page. Maybe I’m just a bit of a percussion junky, but I’m really happy to see this concert on DVD. Enjoy the trailer below.

Rumor: Possible tracklist for T.I.’s King Uncaged

This rumored tracklist is cycling around online, with features and a few production spots included. It may well prove bogus as the previously discussed “Dream Me Up” featuring T.I.’s labelmate B.o.B. is notably absent, as is the talked-about The-Dream feature (which could also simply be due to that artist’s current public roasting), but other elements are in place, such as the promised Eminem and Lady Gaga collabs. Also worth attention would be not one, but two, Ludacris spots.

1. Return of King (Just Blaze)
2. I’m Back
3. Amazing
4. Yeah Ya Know (Takers)
5. Knock Down, Drag Out (ft. Young Dro & Ludacris) (DJ Toomp)
6. Got Your Back (ft. Keri Hilson) (DJ Toomp)
7. Nightmare
8. Computer (ft. Ne-Yo) (Stargate)
9. Golden Girls (ft. Kanye West & Drake) (Kanye West)
10. Lick It (ft. Lady Gaga) (RedOne)
11. Ya Hear Me (ft. Swizz Beatz) (Swizz Beatz)
12. Pop the Trunk
13. Kill Em All
14. Different from Others (ft. Eminem) (Eminem)
15. Back For Revenge
16. Did You Forget
17. Before & After (ft. Jay-Z & Ludacris) (Just Blaze)
18. Strip for Me (ft. Trey Songz) (Danja)
19. Not Perfect

Lil Wayne likely to come home early

Those of you rocking the “Free Weezy” shirts may have to put them away sooner than you thought. Not that you’ll mind: several reports drifting around state that Wayne will be out of jail four months earlier than sentenced. He’s currently about half-way through his one year sentence, if this change proves true, he should be out by early November. Good news for all, but we shouldn’t be surprised – what star serves an entire sentence? This will prove no different than T.I.’s release.

Hard L.A. Fest 2010 Cancelled

In a move that seems to be directly related to this year’s out of control Electric Daisy Carnival in Los Angeles, the 2010 Hard L.A. festival will be cancelled. M.I.A. was scheduled to headline along with appearances by Die Antwoord and Sleigh Bells. The Los Angeles County are attempting to “examine and enhance rave security” after the death of one 15 year old girl at Electric Daisy, along with other incidents at various Hard festivals held throughout the year. No word yet on how ticket refunds and the like will be handled, but look for an update when a statement is issued.

In good news, however, Hard Summer (the larger of the two festivals) is still scheduled for August 7th. Guests for Hard Summer include Soulwax, Crystal Castles, and Digitalism.

Wale Announces New Mixtape

Wale has created a Youtube video talking about why he hasn’t been talking. Well, sort of… Not much has been heard from the DC-rapper since he wrapped the tour for his first studio album “Attention Deficit” earlier this year. Wale doesn’t really explain why he’s been so quiet in the video, but he does tease his new mixtape, “More About Nothing” (out on August 3rd), which at least explains what he’s been up to.

Phosphorescent has van, gear, merch stolen; asks for your help

Country-rockers Phosphorescent were the unfortunate victims of an untimely robbery late Thursday night after playing at New York City’s Pier 54. On the first night of their six-week US tour, Phosphorescent’s rental van holding all of their equipment and merchandise was stolen in Brooklyn. The crime was pretty devastating to say the least, with an estimated value of $40,000 in losses—some of which included some extremely rare gear owned by frontman Matthew Houck.

Phosphorescent have set up a Paypal account for anyone who wants to make a donation so they can replace their gear and help the band. Additionally, their management and label are offering a $5000 reward for the return of their gear.

Check out the full list of gear that was taken below.

There is a lot of talk going around that Kanye West’s Good Ass Job had the tracklist leaked this morning. Quite frankly, it’s all speculation at this point. The story going around is that his Mixer’s laptop was either stolen or hacked, and the tracklist along with the album itself was taken. Of course, anything with Kanye West is going to have people talking, but the internet is abuzz with talk over this. My guess is this is shenanigans, but hey, you never know.

The supposed tracklist is:

1. Hell of A Life
2. Dark Fantasy
3. Power
4. Chain Heavy
5. Ghetto University
6. That’s My Bitch
7. Runaway
8. Lost in the World
9. Gorgeous
10. Monster
11. Holding Me Back
12. Devil In A New Dress
13. The Joy
14. So Appauled
15. Blame Game
16. Sweat on My Face
