As previously reported, Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor did indeed score David Fincher‘s The Social Network. In what is probably the biggest (and nicest) surprise of the day (possibly the week) Kanye West announced earlier via Twitter that he was about to release a new 5 song album/EP recorded by himself and Jay-Z entitled Watch the Throne. You can check out “Monster,” the second track from the EP, which features Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross and randomly Bon Iver, as well as Jay and Ye, below.

Hopefully the other four tracks will be released tonight, so keep your eyes on Twitter.

We told you a couple of months ago about Blue Water White Death, the collaboration between Jamie Stewart and Jonathan Meiburg, frontmen of Xiu Xiu and Shearwater respectively. Since then updates have been in short supply, their website still reads “coming soon.” However Stereogum have just premiered a track from the album called “Song For The Great Jihad” which you can check out below.

The description of the album posted in that Stereogum piece reads as follows

“On first listen Blue Water White Death may sound like a pair of reclusive eccentrics making music in a derelict mansion, perilously balancing beauty and horror with the absurd. Soon, it becomes apparent that there are three distinct modes at play – clean, even tones and the nonchalant picking of acoustic guitars that recall life on the open sea, notes and words paced like breaststrokes on the journey to the depths and finally, jarring mysterious noises meshed with vocals that echo the isolated, garbled quantities of the inside of a diver’s mask.”

And you can certainly hear a lot of that in this song.

Graveface will release the self-titled album on October 12th.

Sufjan Stevens just won’t stop! A tour, an EP and the announcement of an album in just a few weeks; life is good for Stevens’ fans. He has now given us a snapshot of his upcoming album The Age Of Adz with this song “I Walked.”

Pablo Diaz-Reixa, better known under his musical making moniker El Guincho, is on the verge of releasing his new album Pop Negro. His 2008 album Alegranza! was a surprise as one of the most enjoyable and imaginative in recent years, and we hope that Pop Negro can live up to that.

We’ve been given an early glimpse of the new album with the track “FM Tan Sexy” which you can check out below.

Into psuedo-obscure Seinfeld references and psych-rock? We thought so. This new jam comes courtesy of Ducktails, via Real Estate. “Art Vandelay” has been a mainstay of Real Estate’s lives shows for a few months now, adding to an already impressive catalogue. But lead singer Matt Mondanile, aka Ducktails, has reworked the track for the B-Side of his upcoming Hamilton Road 7″ on Olde English Spelling Bee (Pre-Order). Although very similar to the Real Estate version, Mondanile has transformed ”Art Vandelay” into an echoing jam worthy of your attention.

One of our favourite electronic artists, the London-based Gold Panda, is finally ready to released a full-length LP. The album, entitled Lucky Shiner is due out on October 11th through NoTown Recordings in the UK and Ocotber 12th through Ghostly International around the world.

The remix of “Power” has both Yeezy and Jeezy providing brand new verses and eventually segueing into Snap!’s “The Power” and calling out Axl Rose along the way. It’s pretty great so give it a listen below.
